Emirates Airlines has agreed to purchase five Airbus A380 jets for $200 million, marking a significant step in the post-pandemic resurgence of the iconic super-jumbo jet. The deal, disclosed in Doric Nimrod Air Two's filing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), reinforces Emirates' position as the world's largest operator of the A380, with a fleet now totaling 118 aircraft, according to data from ch-aviation.

In a recent development, Emirates purchased two of the seven A380s it had leased from Doric Nimrod Air Two Limited, with plans to acquire the remaining five later this year a positive sign for fans of the world's largest passenger airliner.
